HISTORY OF REFLEXOLOGY

Healing throughout History

There is evidence of the practice of reflexology dating back over 5,000 years. It's believed that it was brought from India to China and Japan by traveling Buddhist monks. In the Americas, the Incas and many First Nations have used applied pressure to the feet for healing.


Much more than a massage, reflexology is a regulated, naturopathic technique that purposefully stimulates reflexes in the feet (corresponding to the tissues, glands and organs in the body), to release blockages, manage stress and chronic pain, and to promote

healing and feelings of wellbeing.

Reflexology continues to be practiced all over the world as an honored, complementary health discipline.

Find your Zen

If this is your first Reflexology treatment at Graceful, it will begin with a brief health history. You will be asked to 

set your intention for the session. 

After enjoying a relaxing foot bath, you will be settled on our massage table. The treatment is done while you remain fully clothed. Wear pants that can be easy rolled up to fully enjoy a complimentary foot and lower leg massage following your treatment!
